Event information

Registrations for this event are closed.

Come and join RCTC (I think the T is for Trail?) at Charles Darwin National Park for a multi-lap trail running event.

The event will be held over 12.5km loops of CDP's mountain bike and fire trails.

Runners are welcome to run as many laps as they like, but we will only be recording up to 2 laps (25km) for qualifying purposes. Those hoping to qualify for West Macs Monster must tick this option when registering.

To qualify for the 65km WMM, you must complete two laps.

There is no 128km qualifier option for this event as we don't believe it's reponsible or safe to be running 75km at this time of year. We will offer this option again in the dry season for 2026 qualifiers

Entry cost for RCTC members is $10

Entry cost for non-members is $45

Time:

5:10 am: Gates open (drive down to the central car park; don't park near the gate)

5:25 am: Briefing for 2+ lappers

5:30 am: Start for 2+ lappers and anyone hoping to qualify for WMM (Headtorch compulsory)

6:15 am: Start for those wanting to run a single lap, or who don't wake up early and don't need a WMM qualifier

To note:

  • Only RCTC members will have insurance to run this event. Outsiders are welcome, though they must read and sign the compulsory waiver on the rego page.
  • There are two water stations, one at the start/ finish and another mid-lap. Hand-held bottle essential.  You're welcome to stash any personal drinks and food on the tables of in the esky.  We'll have some lollies and fruit too.
  • The track is very runnable, though there are some technical sections.  It can be run in regular, sensible running shoes, though trail shoes may be better, especially after some rain.
  • Midgies, mozzies, crocodiles, mud, heat, sun, and humidity are highly likely.  Dress, prepare, and spray accordingly.

Essential Gear:

  • Headtorch for 5:30 am starters.  No torch, no start until 6:15 am.
  • A handheld bottle is fine; it doesn't need to be fancy. There will be no cups at either drink station.
  • A hat once the sun is up (Good ones here)
