Precision Rifle Queensland Practical Carbine Rifle Match
Open to Factory Australian made category B carbines with a detachable box magazine.
A minimum of 2 magazines will be required for all stages.
A carbine is a lightweight, compact firearm with a shorter barrel than a standard rifle, typically designed for easier handling and maneuverability. Examples of these rifles: Wedgetail MPR series, Oceania SP15, Warwick WF series, SCSA Taipan, Eureka Stockade 223.
The accepted calibers are .223, 300BLK and .308. Barrel Length is limited to 20” not including muzzle brake, factory barrels only.
Optics are limited to 10x Magnification. No external or internal weights may be used. A muzzle brake that acts as a weight is not allowed. Triggers may be upgraded. Aftermarket AFG’s (angled foregrip) or VFG’s (verticalforegrip) are allowed. Aftermarket buffer tube stocks are allowed. Aftermarket hand grips are allowed.
A sling may be used. A single shooting bag may be used. A detachable bipod may be used, but legs may not be longer than 6-9 inches and it may not act in the manner of a weight.
All divisions are Open. Classes are .223 and .30 Cal
Round Count
180 (The onus is on the shooter to ensure they have adequate ammo for a reshoot(s) if the situation arises).
The course of fire will consist of 16 stages over 2 Days (Saturday & Sunday). This is a Carbine Rifle match shooting steel targets out to 400m.
Shooters will be supplied with a matchbook when they sign in at the PRQLD control point. Competitors are required to arrive and sign in before 0700 hrs Saturday/ 0730 hrs Sunday.
Compulsory safety briefing is at 7:30am (TBC) Saturday morning.
Friday Practice & Camping
The range will be open for practice, load development and sighting in from 1200 hrs on Friday afternoon (once setup is complete) with camping available overnight. Facilites are basic at the range, so please be self suficient.
