What clothes should I wear?

  • Comfortable! That’s the most important.
  • We recommend to wear some close fitting clothes – preferably shorts and shirts. You can wear your rashee if you like.
  • Hat,/cap that wont blow off, sunglasses
  • footwear that you can get wet eg thongs, crocs
  • socks for wearing in the boat- these should be long and loose so they are easy to put on when your feet are wet ( eg old football or ski socks or Explorer type socks). These are to protect your feet from chafe, and protect the backs of your calves (and keep your feet warm). They are also a hygiene issue, ie our boats have multiple users
  • Sunscreen

What time should I get there?

  • Address: Hibbard Dr, Port Macquarie NSW 2444
    • End of the street of the Indoor stadium.
    • There is a parking lot front of the shed
  • Plan to arrive around 7:50-55 am
  • We will have a “sign in/ welcome” table between the shed and the club house on the riverside of the building. At this table you are going to get some further instructions.
  • Do not worry if you are late, we will be there, so just come and join as soon as you can.

My Parent/Parents would like to stay!

  • That is totally possible. There is a nice little park next to the clubhouse. They can have a picnic there or a bbq, or they can watch you. Or if they love fishing, it is the perfect spot besides rowing to do some recreational activities.
  • Or if  your parents are adventurous like you they can join too to learn how to row – also your siblings as well.

What should I bring?

Do you prefer team sports or individual ones?

  • Guess what! This sport is for you!
  • If you enjoy doing sports in a social environment, with team mates, you picked the right activity. There are multiple options to row in a crew – double, quad, pair, four and eight.
  • But if you are happy with being on your own, just grab a single and off you go! (once you've had some instruction)

Love  nature, and the water?

  • Yesss please, its all about it.

And so on, I could write pages and pages about it, but you know what come and try it!..

We are planning to follow the Come and Try Day with a 6 session learn to row program. More details soon and on the day.
