We will supply this information closer to the event

All nominations with accompanying fees must be received by Close-of-Business on Friday 25 July 2025.

The ticking of the Terms of Registration by the competitor is a declaration attesting to the correctness of the information contained in the entry form.

• Provisional two-person State Team nominations must be received by Close-of-Business on 6 August 2025.  Nominations of each team’s       scoring events must be received before firing of the first event for that division commences.

CMP Action Pistol Rules effective 1 January 2024 shall apply.  NOTE:  TPA General Technical Regulations (Edition 01/2025) 2.1.8 now permit     the grip safety of a 1911 style pistol to be pinned in concurrence with CMP Rule 4.1.3

• Events comprising the competition for each Division are; Practical Event Rule 6.2.1; Barricade Event Rule 6.2.2; Falling Plates Event Rule 6.2.3; Moving Target Event Rule 6.2.4

• The competition will comprise the following Divisions for National Championships:  Open, Metallic Sight and Production Optics.  Entries for Production Division will be accepted at a reduced fee; however, no trophies will be awarded.  This decision may be revised should sufficient entries be received to justify inclusion as a National Championship match.

• All Australian resident competitors must be financial members of Target Pistol Australia and possess a current membership card from their affiliated state body.  Holster Accreditation Cards will be inspected at gun check.

• The TPA Competition Code of Conduct and compulsory Integrity Education Courses apply to this competition.

• The Range Attendance Book in the clubhouse is to be signed by all competitors, officials and visitors at the beginning of each day.

• All competitors and spectators in the vicinity of the ranges must wear appropriate eye and ear protection and enclosed footwear.  Club Rules prohibit the wearing of camouflage, military and paramilitary style clothing as well as clothing displaying offensive slogans and/or images.

• All mobile phones and electronic devices must be switched off, or turned to silent mode, when in the vicinity of the ranges.

• Competitors will be expected to act as target changers and observers for the next detail of competitors and will be squadded for work details.

Full metal jacket (FMJ) ammunition is not permitted.  Semi-jacketed ammunition is allowed.  The maximum power factor allowed is 150.

• Competitors’ ammunition will be collected at each event and tested for power factor over a chronograph.  Initial tests will be conducted using a ‘common gun’ for that calibre.  Competitors will be notified to attend the chronograph station with their own gun, if required.

• An initial sight picture will only be permitted to be taken from within the 10yd box on the Moving Target Event.  CMP Rule 6.2.4(f) states that the 7½ minute time limit starts with the LOAD command and the entire course-of-fire must be completed within 7½ minutes.  Shooters will be given a reasonable time to enter the 10yd box, arrange their gear and take a sight picture before being given the load command.  Shooters must not unduly delay the running of the event.

• Firearms may only be uncased and cased at the shooting line at the direction of the Range Officer.  Exposed firearms are not permitted behind the firing line, in the clubhouse or in the car park.  Safe Areas are available adjacent to all ranges and are to be used for any handling of uncased firearms.  No ammunition is permitted in the Safe Areas.

• Alcohol may only be consumed at the conclusion of a competitor’s program for the day and is restricted to inside the clubhouse and the concrete area surrounding the clubhouse.

Smoking is not permitted anywhere in the vicinity of the ranges or near the clubhouse.  Smokers are required to move a considerable distance from the ranges and clubhouse if they wish to smoke.

• Children under 12 must be supervised at all times.
• Ticking the Conditions of entry is acknowledgement that all results will be published on the TPA, PSQ and TPC websites and social media platforms. You also acknowledge that video and photographs will be taken during the competition and may be published on the previous mentioned websites and social media platforms, including being used in future TPA Range Reports.
