Hockey NSW Adopts New FIH Regulation Changes for Athlete Safety

In a significant move to enhance player safety, Hockey NSW has announced that, effective immediately in 2025, all defending players will be required to wear a face mask during penalty corners, aligning with the latest regulation changes introduced by the International Hockey Federation (FIH) (Click here to read more).

The new rule reflects Hockey NSW’s ongoing commitment to athlete welfare, ensuring that players are better protected from potential injury during penalty corners.

In line with this, Bathurst Hockey Association have made masks compulsory to wear for short corner defenders.
