Wojciech Wloch WPNSW referee coordinator will be attending and refereeing at our Grand Finals this weekend. As a part of this he will be running a workshop for all referees as well as those who wish to begin refereeing.
WPNSW encourages all athletes and supports at the age of 14 and older to get involved in officiating. It’s a great way to get a better understanding of the rules and therefore not only to develop as referee but also to become a better player. The Regional Referee Development Program aims to support junior and more experienced referees in their development in the few areas:
- Introduction to refereeing - Behaviour before/after the game - Understanding of the rules and instructions including preventative officiating o Offensive fouls o Exclusions off the ball o Centre forward/Centre back o Penalty situations o Fouls by goalkeeper o Misconduct/Violent action - Communication between referees and coaches and conflict resolution - New Rules
This event will be run immediately following our junior presentations on saturday afternoon at the Albury pool. Approx. a 4:15pm start.
