This course introduces participants to the meaning of racing flags, the communication system that underpins safe and fair race management. Trainees learn how to operate the NYC flag deck, including correct hoist procedures, timing sequences, and coordination with the Race Officer. The course also covers race‑result recording, equipping participants with the skills to accurately track finishes, manage scoring sheets, and support the delivery of consistent, high‑quality racing at Nedlands Yacht Club.

This course is offered free of charge to current Nedlands Yacht Club financial members.  This course is an excellent introduction for future Race Officers and Officer-of-the Day.  On completion of this course, particpants should consider completing WA National & Regional Race Officer Course (see Australian Sailing website for course offerrings)
