Training Opportunity - Mark Laying - Buoy Zone

Ever wanted to improve your skills at laying marks for racing?
Members have the opportunity to learn Buoy Zone -  a mark laying ap that assists in laying courses correctly. 

BUOY ZONE
For many of you, we know that you're volunteering your time when you're out in the support boats. The goal is to make the job of laying a course as easy as driving to a marked spot on the map. No more guessing at distances or angles over the radio. Drop the mark knowing it's right.

It's quick and easy to create a course from scratch or re-use one you've used before. 

• Create new or select a course you've used before

• Confirm / edit the course layout and settings

• See course on map and review all mark details

• Present individual mark coordinates

• Navigate to a specific mark

• Zoom in to see the mark's 10m & 5m zones to help Support Boats accurately lay the mark

• View all Support Boats who have joined the course

This training will be presented by Glenn Porter. 

Online learning component

Wed 6th August - Virtual course onshore goes live and remains that way for 10 days.

• Participants are emailed with instructions on how to download the app, register, login and try out the onshore course.
