2026 Message from the President -
NSW Squash Masters Association
As we welcome the new year 2026, I want to take a moment to reaffirm that NSW Squash Masters remains proudly dedicated to squash players aged 35 and over.
Like many organisations, we now face the need for a complete revamp - especially in areas such as bookkeeping, administration, and tournament control. These changes are essential to ensure the long-term strength and sustainability of our association.
I am extremely fortunate to work alongside a committee that is 100% committed to making these improvements a reality.
Importantly, I want to reassure all members that these changes will not affect the spirit, culture, or social side of Masters squash. It is neither my intention nor the committee's intention to change what makes our community special.
Throughout 2026, you will notice several new developments in how tournaments are run - including the platforms we use and the ranking systems we adopt. These updates are designed to benefit all players and help grow NSW Squash Masters by welcoming new members into our community.
To our long-standing and senior players: I encourage you to continue showcasing what makes Masters tournaments enjoyable and inclusive. Your presence and leadership help build a strong legacy for future generations.
While the digital world continues to evolve rapidly and given the results from our recent poll and structure of the trial tournament at Dapto, over 80°/o are willing to accept these new changes and the committee and I are committed to supporting and guiding anyone who feels uncertain about these transitions. We will take the time to help everyone adjust - no one will be left behind. Change can be challenging, but it is also a positive step forward.
I hope this message brings clarity and reassurance. If anyone would like to chat or raise any concerns, I am more than happy to make the time.
Thank you for your ongoing support.
Wally Guerreiro
President, NSW Squash Masters
