Welcome to the second NSW Hobie Wave Grand Prix Championships!

The NSW Hobie Cat Association, in conjunction with the Vincentia Sailing Club, are proud to release the Notice of Race and offical open entries for the 2026 NSW Hobie Wave Grand Prix Championships. With the inaugural event in 2025 regarded as an outstanding success on all fronts, we cannot wait for the second Grand Prix Championships for the humble Hobie Wave to be held in Australia.

Once again, the VSC will be supplying five Waves for the event, along with any additional boats brought by competitors. Featuring a Round Robin Qualifying Series, everything is to play for as the sailors go head to head, with the ulitmate goal of making the Finals series.

For each race in the qualifying series, sailors will rotate from Wave to Wave, battling it out in style, much like a Hobie 16 Worlds. As for the Finals, the best of the best will rotate from boat to boat, in four back-to-back races.

In 2026, priority entry will be given to the sailors that competed in the inaugural WaveGP Championships for a limited time only, prior to entries opening up for everyone.

The qualifying series will be will be held on Saturday and Sunday morning, with the Finals taking place Sunday afternoon.

MINIMUM CREW WEIGHT:

  • Waves: 54.43 kg

BOAT DEPOSITS:

  • A refundable boat deposit of AUD $100 will be required on site by every team. Damage deposits must be paid in cash in AUD $100. Any damage deposit unused at the end of the event will be returned to the competitor.

For any questions, queries or concerns, get in contact with the NSWHCA via info@nsw.hobiecat.asn.au and we hope to seeing a bunch of you in Jervis Bay this coming September to kick off the Sailing Season in style!

NOTE: To compete in a Championship level event, and to be included on the NSW Traveller Series, all helms must be financial members of a State Hobie Cat Association. The NSW membership form can be found HERE. For interstate travellers, please head to your State Association Website.
