THE SEASON MAY BE OVER, BUT WE'RE NOT DONE YET!

Well, how are we all feeling after a couple of weeks off? Hopefully, everyone is well rested, recharged and not missing that old hockey stick too much! 😉

But don't you worry… if the hockey withdrawals are starting to kick in, we've got just the thing!

THIS SATURDAY IS OUR HOCKEY CLUB WIND-UP! 

We're bringing everyone back together for an afternoon of fun, with nibbles, the bar facilities open, our junior and senior presentations, and of course, the much-anticipated ANNUAL PARENTS VS KIDS FUN GAME! 

So, dust off those sticks, warm up those legs (some of us might need a little longer than others!) and LET'S BRING IT! We want to see those kids take on their parents, those competitive spirits come out, and plenty of laughs along the way.

Please remember to let your team manager know if you'll be attending so we can get organised, but we'd absolutely love to see as many of our Reds and Greys there as possible!  And another reminder, if you havent returned your hockey gear, shirts skirts and all the rest.... this is the perfect opportunity!!

It's a chance to celebrate the season, recognise our players and enjoy one last get-together before we officially hang up the hockey gear for the year.

For those not quite ready to hang up the hockey stick and hibernate until next season, there's still plenty happening around our sporting community!

EMERGING THUNDERSTICKS ARE BACK IN ALBANY!

Still keen for a little more hockey? Here's another one for the calendar!

Hockey WA's popular Emerging Thundersticks Program returns to the Great Southern this October, giving talented regional players the chance to train with Hockey WA State Performance and Pathways Coaches.

It's a fantastic opportunity for young athletes to develop their skills, connect with performance coaches and prepare for future opportunities, including the Youth International Gryphon Cup and State Development Squad trials.

📅 Thursday 22 October: 5:00 pm – 7:00 pm
📅 Friday 23 October: 6:00 am – 7:30 am
📍 Albany Hockey Turf
💰 $120 for both sessions
🏑 Open to athletes aged 12–18, including those turning 12 in 2026.

Goalkeepers are included too, with training focused on repetitive efforts, first touch and clearance work. Coaches may adjust groups to ensure players train alongside others of a similar skill level.

☀️ SUMMER 7s – BECAUSE WE'RE NOT READY TO STOP!

Thought the hockey season was over? Think again! There may even still be spots available in some of the Summer 7s competitions, so if you're keen to keep the stick swinging, now's your chance!

Fast, fun and social, Summer 7s is a great way to stay active, keep those skills ticking over and enjoy a midweek hockey fix. All abilities are welcome, so whether you're a seasoned player or just looking for a bit of fun, there's something for you!

🔴 MEN'S SOCIAL HOCKEY

📅 Wednesday nights, 14 October – 16 December
⏰ Register at 6:00 pm for a 6:45 pm start
🏑 Seven players per team
💰 $90 for 10 weeks or $10 per game
