🏑 Welcome to Round 13!

Well, we made it to Round 13 — and after last weekend, I think everyone deserves a medal! 😂🌧️💨

Winds, hail, rain, more wind, shaking goals and enough sideways weather to make you question your life choices… but you all turned up, played, supported and got stuck in anyway!

So a huge well done to everyone who can now proudly tick “survived a Great Southern hockey blizzard” off their CV! 

Hopefully this next round brings us a little more hockey weather and a little less extreme weather event — but whatever the conditions, we’ll see you around the turf supporting our North Albany teams.

Player of the week

Congratulations to Erin Davies, our Player of the Week!

A reliable presence in defence and mid field, Erin consistently brings composure, determination and a strong work ethic to the field. She reads the play well, puts herself in the right positions and is someone her teammates can rely on when the pressure is on.

It was great to see Erin recognised for another strong performance this week. Well done, Erin — keep up the fantastic work!

Weather Postponements 🌧️

The 3/4 Redbacks vs 3/4 Grey and 5/6 Redbacks vs 5/6 Grey games scheduled for Saturday, 8 August were postponed due to the weather.

The 3/4 game has now been played, with Grey winning 1–0, while the 5/6 game has been rescheduled for Wednesday, 19 August at 4:30pm.

It was fantastic to see some of our North Albany players getting involved, eager to learn, ready to give things a go and listening along the way!

A huge thank you to Carl for giving up his day, putting up with what I’m sure was a lot of whistles 😂 and giving our young players such a great opportunity to learn and develop their umpiring skills.

We really appreciate your time, Carl!  Hopefully we have some future umpiring stars amoungst us..

Well, the weather gods look to be giving us a much-needed break this weekend! After last weekend’s blizzard-like conditions, we can’t wait to see everyone back out there playing, supporting and enjoying their hockey.

It might still be cold enough to earn yourself a coffee if you’re cheering from the sidelines, so why not head down to the turf, grab a warm drink and get behind our North Albany teams!
