Hello and welcome to our first newsletter!

It has been wonderful to see so many keen excited faces back on the turf again.  Our teams have been doing an amazing job! Our new under 18 ladies team won their first game during round 2 against Vikings, well done ladies!!  Lets not forget our little 2,3,4 teams are making a splash and learning some great moves.  Some of them have even taken a swing at being in goals and loved it. They do look rather cute!
Heres a couple more fun photos from the past weeks that have been taken.
Last weeks results were as follows,

This weeks fixtures have been going well too.  If you have any spare time on the weekend I'm sure your support would be greatly appreciated.  A wonderful way to end your Saturday this week may be, to come down and watch the Women's A at 5pm or Men's A at 630pm, or both of course!  Pop down, get under those heaters and cheer away, with some friends and maybe a drink or two.
Otherwise take a look at next weeks fixtures to plan your week.

You may have heard the news, from 10th March 2025 in all Hockey ACT competitions the wearing of face masks is mandatory when defending penalty corners.
  • In the Hockey ACT Capital League competitions all face masks worn by field players must be of a cage design to ensure appropriate protection for the players at that standard.
  • No player will be permitted to defend on penalty corners without the correct face mask, they will be sent to halfway.
  • Failure to have adequate face masks will see teams defending penalty corners with reduced players.
  • Teams have 40 seconds from the awarding of a penalty corner to be ready.  The priority for the umpires is player safety and welfare – if a little more time is required for all defenders to be ready and fully protected, this should be given. However, if, the umpire is of the view that there is an intentional delay (by either team), the umpire is to identify and issue a personal penalty to the player responsible.
  • Teams cannot take a 16yd hit with any personal protective equipment on
  • All players are responsible for removing their PPE gear from the field of play safely. Any reckless removal of gear may be met with a personal penalty

Thank you so much to the wonderful Community Bank Albany, who gave us a grant to use towards these essential face masks.
