NORDEK UPDATE 4th AUGUST 2026

Hi Members,

We hope you all enjoyed the Water Polo World Cup Finals, whether it was poolside in Sydney Olympic Park or at home on Kayo.

It was fantastic to see so many Nordek members make the trip to Sydney for the 2026 World Aquatics Water Polo World Cup Finals - the biggest international water polo event held in Australia since the Sydney 2000 Olympics!

From athletes, coaches, parents, officials, and volunteers, it was great to see our club represented both in the stands and behind the scenes throughout an incredible week of world-class water polo.

A huge congratulations to the Water Polo Australia Aussie Stingers and Aussie Sharks on outstanding campaigns against the world’s best.

Aussie Stingers

The Stingers bounced back from a heartbreaking semi-final loss to defeat Russia 12–9 and claim the Bronze Medal after a fantastic tournament.

Aussie Sharks

The Sharks produced one of the highlights of the tournament with their thrilling quarter-final win over Spain before narrowly missing out on a medal, finishing fourth after another impressive campaign.

A fantastic week for Australian water polo, and an incredible opportunity for so many of our Nordek members to experience the sport at the highest level. We can’t wait for the next one!

WORKING WITH VULNERABLE PEOPLE REGISTRATION

A reminder to all members aged 16 years and over who volunteer within their club or WPACT as a coach, referee, manager, pool controller or in any other volunteer capacity that you are required to hold a current Working with Vulnerable People (WWVP) card. A current WWVP card is a mandatory requirement to undertake these roles. If your card has expired, or you do not yet have one, please apply NOW!

SOCIAL POLO

Registrations are now open for Term 3 Social Water Polo! Whether you're returning to the pool, trying water polo for the first time or simply looking for a fun way to stay active, Social Water Polo offers a relaxed and welcoming environment with minimal training and plenty of game time.

Open to players of all ages and skill levels, it's the perfect opportunity to enjoy the sport in a friendly, pressure free setting. This term, we've introduced a new Casual Pass alongside our standard Full-Term Registration, giving players even more flexibility. If you can't commit to the full term, you can now purchase single session passes and play when it suits your schedule. We look forward to seeing both familiar and new faces in the pool this Term.
