NORDEK UPDATE 4 JULY

Hi Everyone,

There has been a lot going on locally, interstate and overseas for many of our players and officials. Check out below the opportunities available to our athletes.

Our representative teams have been training hard and there are players travelling overseas for amazing experiences.

What a great sport to be involved in!

 

 

13&U NATIONAL DEVELOPMENT CARNIVAL – HOBART

Good luck Nordek juniors who are in ACT teams at the 13&U National Development Carnival in Hobart!

It’s great to see 14 of our young athletes, along with two of our coaches, representing the ACT - go Nordek and go Team ACT.

EAST COAST CHALLENGE CHAMPIONSHIPS - BOYS

We’re proud to see 10 Nordek U15 boys and Coach Ben selected to represent the ACT in Melbourne next week.

Goodluck to our Nordek reps and all the ACT athletes heading south for the tournament!

We’re proud to see 11 Nordek U15 girls, Coach Sharyn and Manager Danielle selected to represent the ACT in Melbourne next week.

USA WATER POLO NATIONAL JUNIOR OLYMPICS – CALIFORNIA  24 – 27 JULY

We have 6 Nordek athletes training hard in the USA to participate in teams in this tournament in sunny California.

All gaining invaluable experience playing, training, and living in a new environment. Best of luck to you all.

HAWAIIAN INVITATIONAL TOURNAMENT 29 JULY – 2 AUG

Five of our Nordek Men are travelling to Hawaii for this tournament in a combined team with alumni players from the University of the Pacific Tigers.

Good luck to Nordek members Matt Turnbull, Ansis Eversons, Andrew Cameron, Matt Cameron, Matt Wilson, Alex Kuzis (ANU) & Grayden Reynolds (Tuggeranong) and UOP members Derek Clappis, Jeff Hoornaert, Clint McLaughlin & Will McLaughlin. What a team!

KAP7 SENIOR CANBERRA CUP- 20 & 21 SEPT
Regarded as one of the great preseason events for senior teams, the Senior Canberra Cup will take place in September, featuring Division 1, Division 2, and Masters competitions.
Dates: September 20 & 21, 2025
Venues: AIS & Gungahlin Leisure Centre

KAP7 WATERPOLOOZA - U12 BOYS, GIRLS AND MIXED - 20 & 21 SEPT

A fun weekend away for our youngest athletes! Now held in conjunction with our senior Canberra Cup!
Dates: September 20 & 21, 2025
Venues: CISAC

Divisions: U12 Boys, Girls and mixed (born 2014-2016)

 

NATIONAL STATE CHAMPIONSHIPS – CANBERRA 30 SEPT – 4 OCTOBER – CANBERRA

15&U Boys & Girls and 17&U Boys & Girls

 

KAP7 JUNIOR CANBERRA CUP - U14 BOYS AND GIRLS AND U17 BOYS AND GIRLS – 7 - 9 NOVEMBER
The Junior Canberra Cup has grown to be one of the biggest water polo events in the southern hemisphere. It’s a perfect preparation event for state and national championships!
Dates: November 7-9, 2025
Venues: AIS, CISAC, Canberra Olympic Pool, Gungahlin Leisure Centre, and Stromlo Leisure Centre

Divisions: U14 Boys and Girls (born 2012-2014) and U17 Boys and Girls (born 2009-2011)

 

XX AUSTRALIAN MASTERS GAMES – CANBERRA 18 – 20 OCTOBERR

The Australian Masters Games are coming to Canberra this October! Don’t miss your chance to be part of this fun, social, and competitive event.

Dates: Saturday 18th – Monday 20th October 2025

Times: 9:00am – 5:00pm

Sport Entry Fee: $165 per person per team, Early Bird Registrations for the 2025 Australian Masters Games close Sunday 27 July

 

Age Groups:

– Women’s 27+

– Men’s 30+

– Plus categories: 30+, 35+, 40+, 45+, 50+, 55+, 60+, 70+

Registrations close Friday 19 September 2025
