AYWPC 2026 – NORDEK RECAP

What a fantastic couple of weeks at the Australian Youth Water Polo Championships in Brisbane.

We had 8 teams compete across Week 1 (14s & 18s) and Week 2 (16s), with a huge number of Nordek players — alongside athletes from across Canberra and Water Polo ACT clubs — coming together to represent.

14&U Boys – Green (Week 1)

Undefeated through rounds and early crossovers before falling in the Semi Final and Bronze match.

3rd straight Top 4 finish, 7–0–2

14&U Girls – Green (Week 1) with @dwpcdevils

An up and down week with some great wins and tough losses, 5–0–3

16&U Girls – Green (Week 2)

16&U Girls A mixed group from Nordek, Vikings & Dragons who kept fighting all week, 1–1–6

16&U Girls – Gold (Week 2)

Tough round games, but strong improvement into crossovers, 2–0–5

16&U Boys – Gold (Canberra Krakens)

A strong showing from a combined ACT side, finishing Top 8, 4–0–3

18&U Boys – Gold (Week 1)

Close games throughout, pushing some top teams despite injuries, 2–0–6

18&U Girls – Gold (Week 1)

A tough week with some tight contests against strong opposition, 1–1–6

18&U Girls – Green (Week 1)

Young group that kept showing up and finished strong, 1–2–5

Huge thank you to all players, coaches, managers, parents and supporters who made the tournament possible — a massive team effort.

We also had a number of Nordek athletes representing other clubs across the two weeks — great to see them competing and contributing across the competition

Already looking forward to 2027!

AYWPC – CONGRATULATIONS TO ALEKS & DOUG LAWRENCE

A special shoutout to our Nordek father & son duo, Aleks & Doug Lawrence, who had a stellar week 2 at the Australian Youth Water Polo Championships

Competing with @centralcoastwpc in the 12&U Green Division:

Gold Medalists, Top of the ladder, Aleks finishing as top scorer.

Doug led the side as coach, guiding the team to a Gold medal, while Aleks played a huge role in the pool all week

Awesome achievement from both — great to see Nordek represented!
