🏆✨ Newsletter Naming Competition – Winner Announced!

A big congratulations to Paul Kaljuvee, whose entry was selected by the committee as the winning name for our Newsletter.
As our winner, Paul will receive a bottle of wine 🍷 and enjoy three free playing sessions at his regular venue, The Gardens.
Well done, Paul — and thank you to everyone who submitted their creative ideas! 🎉

👥Committee Update

We’re continuing to build and enjoy our pickleball community at NEHPC, and there’ve been a couple of committee changes:
Secretary: Jo Scott has stepped into the role, taking over from Pearly. Big thanks to Pearly for setting things up, and to Jo for bringing her experience to the team
New Committee Member: Mario De Palmer has joined the committee and has been a huge help in welcoming players from the Parafield Gardens Recreation Centre into NEHPC
Thanks to everyone for keeping the club moving forward! 💪

🙌🌟 Volunteer Shout-Out

Volunteers make a huge difference, and we want to give special thanks to Heather Nel for helping our newbies at Turramurra, and to Joe Donnarumma, our resident curtain technician each session at Turramurra.
We really appreciate everything you both do! 💛

🔥 Warm-Up Reminder

A quick reminder about the importance of warming up before you play — it really can’t be stressed enough. Speaking from experience, six weeks on the sidelines felt like an eternity 😅 and a simple warm-up can help prevent exactly that.
Take a few minutes to get your body ready… your future self will thank you! 💪

🅿️🏓 Helpful Tips - The 5 'P's of Pickleball

  • Patience – Wait for the right opportunity.

  • Placement – Aim with purpose. 🎯

  • Positioning – Be set and ready.

  • Poaching – Only when permissible by your partner 🤝

  • Power – Use sparingly, and match your opponent’s skill level. ⚡

🍔🎉 Club Celebration

Our recent BBQ at Parafield Gardens to celebrate our new club was a great success, with plenty of good food and good company.
A big shout-out to Monica, Jo, Alby, Mario, and Trish, and to everyone who cooked, brought cakes, salads, or helped out on the day. Thank you for making it such an enjoyable event! ❤️
