For registration/expressions of interest details please see below.
The Walking Football initiative delivers modified walking football programs to older people and addresses multiple common barriers to sport participation.
The program is designed to improve fitness and health through a modified and slower version of the game, encouraging older members of the Glen Eira community and those with restricted mobility to be more active and use football as a vehicle to socialise.
Walking Football has proven to be such a huge success that we cannot take any more players in the regular Tuesday and Thursday morning sessions. (You are welcome to come along and watch though to see what this new craze is all about.)
Due to the overwhelming demand we are opening a new 3rd session on Wednesday mornings at 9.30am 22 Jan 2020 for a 4 week trial period. Come along and try for free then.
Each session will last for one to two hours, depending on the numbers, and we invite participants for a light snack at the end of the weekeday session each week.
If you want to committ after the trial period there will be a $90 six monthly membership fee. We will then keep you informed of dates and times for sessions as well as any upcoming opportunities.
WE RECOMMEND COMFORTABLE WALKING SHOES, NO FOOTBALL BOOTS PLEASE.
