Term 3 2016 - U14 Junior Development Competition

For the third year in a row the U14 Junior Development Competition will be conducted at Warringah Aquatic Centre on Sunday evenings during Term 3 2016, commencing Sunday 7 August 2016 and finishing Sunday 25 September 2016 (8 weeks) from 6pm to 9pm. (Please note time is dependent on team entries)

This competition is open for players (boys and girls) who are born 2003 & 2004 and who wish to continue their development of Waterpolo, with emphasis on fun and participation. However, also be considered for selection in the SNB Breakers Waterpolo U14 Representative Teams to compete in the Summer Sydney Metro Competition from October 2016 through to April 2017, 2016/17 State Tournament & 2017 National Tournament.

We welcome NEW and encourage EXISTING players to join.

If numbers allow, we can increase out team entries from 2 to 3 for the Metro Competition.  If you do not wish to be selected/considered for the Representative Teams, please advise the Club Secretary, secretary@snbwaterpolo.com.au

Players are to enter individually and will be placed in a team, as current SNB Breakers players will be mixed with new players to help with development.

Current SNB Coaches will be present each evening to assist with coaching the teams and from time to time will invite players to additional training sessions.

The entry fee is $125 per player which covers the cost for Pool Hire, Coaching Levy, Referee Levy and equipment (balls and caps).  Please note this does not include pool entry for players or spectators into the Warringah Aquatic Centre.

To register:-

STEP 1  -  All players are required to register as a Junior Member and pay the $8 registration/membership fee.

                  Click on the "REGISTRATION" tab and complete the details.

STEP 2  -  Then you need to register and pay to participate in the EVENT.

                  Click on the EVENTS or HOME tab, then click on REGISTER (blue box on right) to register for the event.

Everyone is required to register no later than 31st July, 2016.   Late registrations will only be accepted if there are spots available in teams.

The competition will be run similarly to the current Sydney Metro Competition using the whole deep end of the 50m pool, game clock and shot clocks. There is a maximum of 8 games scheduled each evening, subject to player/team entries.  Each game has been allotted half an hour to complete with the first game scheduled at 6pm and the last game scheduled at 8:30pm, finishing by 9pm.   There will be a 1 minute break at the end of each quarter except at half time, whereby there will be a 2 minute break allowed.

Teams will consist of a maximum of 11 players, games will run in 4 x 6 minute quarters with a Referee time-out called in the first two quarters, at approximately the 3 minute mark, to allow for a bench interchange of field players with the goal keeper position being rotated each half.

The referees controlling the game will be experienced and current players from the SNB Breakers U18 and U16A age groups (boys and girls).

CHILDREN MUST BE SUPERVISED BY THEIR PARENT AT ALL TIMES
