Event information
Bookings for equipment audits are being taken to alleviate wait time by yacht owners or their representatives. However, some audits take longer than other so we will do our best (Skippers being prepared and having your form completed and gear layed out waiting makes a big difference!)
Please type in the notes where your yacht is located.
PREPARATION FOR THE AUDIT
Boat owners or their representative are to complete the appropriate Equipment Audit Form prior to the audit. Forms can be downloaded from the Australian Sailing or the Manly Yacht Club web site document pages.
The owner or their representative should have carried out an initial inspection to ensure that equipment is in date (fire extinguishers, flares and first aid kits), in good repair and in working order. They should also ensure that the yachts name is on all buoyant equipment and life jackets and that evidence of an annual check of inflatable life jackets is available.
ON THE DAY OF THE AUDIT
Portable Equipment should be laid out and ready for inspection together with documentation such as service certificates for inflatable PFDs. For Cat 4 audits storm boards should be ready to be put in place, PFDs harnesses and tethers laid out, batteries fitted to reserve navigation lights and EPIRB registration available.
FOLLOWING AUDIT
Owners are to have the signed Audit Form submitted to MYC.
