Rules and Regulations

❖ Registration is open to anyone, membership to an ANQ club is not required. 

❖ There is no charge for Mulgrave members , non-Mulgave members $15 per athlete

❖ Late nominations will only be accepted accompanied by the late fee of $10.00

❖ Athletes compete in pairs, this can be the same gender or not. Athletes will compete using their own implement weights regardless of their partners gender

❖ An athlete cannot change partners mid competition. If you do this, you will both lose your points.

❖ If an athlete is unable to continue due to injury or illness, please advise the Recording Table immediately, alternate arrangements may be possible.

❖ Depending on registration numbers, groups may be split, athletes will be notified of any changes.

Officials/Volunteers

❖ An official will be in attendance at each field event

❖ A recorder shall be allocated to each age group, they are responsible for this group throughout the day and will work with the official allocated to their events

❖ Officials cannot approve a change of partner. Should an athlete approach you regarding a change, please redirect them to the Recording Table.

❖ For each event, there must be at least two (2) parent helpers in addition to the Chief and Recorder. As always, Carnivals rely on volunteers to help on the track and field, so please volunteer your time and help where needed.

Competition Rules

❖ Each pair will compete together in five (5) traditional track and field events with the option of gaining extra points in novelty events

❖ All field events in all age groups will only have three throws/jumps each. The only exception will be high jump.

❖ Shoes are compulsory in all events. Spikes can only be worn by 11 years and up.  11’s and 12’s may only wear spikes in laned track events, jump events and javelin. 13’s and older may wear spikes in all track events, jump events and javelin.

❖ Spikes must be carried to your event. Do not walk to your event with them on. All athletes must remove their spikes prior to leaving the competition arena.

❖ Failure to adhere to safety rules may result in the athlete being disqualified.

❖ ANQ equipment specifications apply to ALL athletes

❖ Age Groups - Age is the age an athlete turns in 2021. Age Grading categories allow for athletes of varied age to partner up. Results are entered in to the system and the age graded result is how we determine points.

Points System and Awards

❖ Points shall be awarded at the completion of each event.

❖ 1st place will be allocated 10 points, 2nd 9 points, 3rd 8 points and so on.

❖ A prize will be awarded to each competing 3-5 year old.

❖ Prizes will be awarded to the top three pairs in each age category
