Mannering Park Amateur Sailing Club would like to invite members of the community along to experience the thrill of sailing on beautiful Lake Macquarie.

The sailing club will be open from midday on Saturday the 228th October for interested community members to participate in an afternoon of sailing or to view the club house and see how we operate.

The club caters for all ages from children and adults learning to sail, to active seniors wanting to get out on the water.

If you would like to experience the thrill of sailing, register your interest and please select the type of boat you would like to sail, either Yacht, Catamaran or Dinghy. You may select more than one option. Alternatively if you would prefer to simply experience the club's social aspect and see how the club operates, you can also nominate this option in the registration process.

We need people interested in attending the Discover Sailing Day to register first so the club is able to allocate the necessary resources on the day

• No experience needed – just bring your sense of adventure

• Friendly club members will be there to welcome you and answer questions

Prerequisite: For safety reasons, participants must be confident in and around the water.

By the end of the day, you’ll have:

• Experienced sailing firsthand
• Discovered the fun and community spirit of your local club
• Learned about exciting courses, activities, and ways to keep sailing
