Build real confidence with the engines that get you on and off the dock safely.
This hands-on workshop covers diesel inboards , focusing on practical knowledge every sailor should have — whether you race, cruise or simply rely on your engine to get home.
We’ll cover:

Engine basics and how they actually work

Pre-start checks and shutdown procedures

Common issues and simple troubleshooting

Cooling systems, fuel systems and electrical essentials

Preventative maintenance that avoids expensive repairs

What to do when things don’t go to plan
This session is practical, interactive and designed for everyday sailors — no mechanical background required.
What to Wear

Closed-toe shoes (non-slip preferred)

Comfortable clothing you don’t mind getting slightly dirty

A light jacket (some components may be outdoors)
What to Bring

Notebook and pen

Glasses if required for close reading
