Sunday Afternoon Members' Sail (SAMS)

• Fleet Start: the whole fleet starts together.
• May have a formal Start Boat and Start Line.
• Performance Handicap Scoring (PHS) where the finishing places are based on a Corrected Finish Time calculated on a pre-assigned handicap.
• Course Time approximately 3 - 4 hours.
• Course Distance approximately 15 - 23 Nm's.
• Possibly more competitive - especially at the start.
• Visitors / Passengers are welcome but would be advantageous to have had some experience.

The MYC Boat Fleet

All boats are skippered by experienced sailors and well equipped.

All boats are certified to Australian Sailing (AS) Safety Category 4.

For sailing in unprotected waters up to 25NM offshore.

Boats vary in size and design and are handicapped based on performance and therefore any boat can win the race.
