WA Mirror Dinghy Championships

Event information
The 2025–26 WA State Mirror Championships were held over the weekend of Saturday 31 January and Sunday 1 February 2026 at Koombana Bay Sailing Club, with 20 boats from six clubs lining up for eight scheduled races (race 8 later abandoned).
Saturday delivered classic Koombana conditions: a sunny 32°C day with a solid 22‑knot easterly gusting to 30 knots. Frequent capsizes tested everyone’s endurance and saw the top three boats trading race wins throughout the day, while the Junior and Youth sailors handled the demanding conditions extremely well and kept pushing on.
Sunday was even hotter at around 35°C and again sunny, with a 15‑knot easterly in the morning gusting to 22 knots before easing away during the afternoon, ultimately leading to the abandonment of race 8 after 60 minutes.
A big thank you to all the volunteers and supporters at Koombana Bay Sailing Club, whose efforts made the championship both successful and very enjoyable for all involved. Thanks also to all sailors and crews for maintaining such a consistently sportsmanlike and friendly spirit throughout the event.
