Day 4 NS14 Nationals

Heat 7 got away on time in a building 7-8 knot SSE breeze with relatively flat water.

The top contenders did not have it easy and by the finish Up BeatStephen Cartwright and Jayden Cartwright had a good win from Skinny Love Alex Poole and Natalia Jastrezebski in second and California Times  Chris Eddes in third.

Heat 8 Got away on the same course in a still building SSE breeze of 10-12 knots giving the fleet a nice ride around the course.

The increase in preasure saw the top end boats back in the lead with TR6 andCalifornia Girl 1-2 again.

There were a number of tight bouy roundings making for a good spectacle and fun for the competitors.

In the end TR6 Mark Thorpe & Emma Rankin took the gun from California TimesChris Eddes & Rebecca Wiley second andBarnstormer Hudson Barnes & Jack Barnes living up to its name in third.

During the last legs of Heat 8 the wind swung into the East causing the top mark for the final windward to be moved to the east.

Heat 9 got away in an Easterly of 12 knots with fresher gusts however on the down wind leg of the sausage the breeze swung into the NE so again the windward was move and the race shortened at the top mark.

At the finish it was TR6 yet again fromUnder the Radar Nick McElwee and Izzy Cameron in second and California Times third.

 

After nine races and with two drops the leaders are:-

1st TR6 Mark Thorpe & Emma Rankin 10 points

2nd California Times Chris Eddes & Rebecca Wiley 20 points

3rd Paddy Wack Bradley Clarke & Tahlia Clarke 25 points

 

the final heat will be sailed tomorrow Sat 7th.
