This course is an introduction to dinghy sailing for adults. This course is for raw beginners who are wanting to join our club and become competent sailors. This course will start start you on that road. 
You will need to be reasonably fit and strong. Good upper body strength is essential for getting back into a sailing dinghy after a capsize. 
The course will be conducted by an experienced instructor who will be on board with you. The course also involves sailing theory. 
Please note that you will require an Australian Sailing number to enter this course. Once you press 'register', scroll down a little and on the left hand side the will be a link saying 'Don't have and Australian Sailing number?' 
Simply press that to register your details and obtain you A.S. number then continue the course registration process.


 


Course Overview

This course introduces participants to dinghy sailing and its fundamental skills so they learn terminology and equipment and practice launching and returning to shore and capsize recovery. 

Course Prerequisites

Water confident.

Who should do this course?

This course is designed for participants who wish to begin sailing in a dinghy. All the equipment and gear will be provided by your accredited Discover Sailing Centre.

Course Outcome

You will gain your Start Sailing 1 completion certificate.
