Rising Stars is Mounts Bay Sailing Club’s entry-level course for children aged from 6 years of age. It introduces the fundamentals of sailing in a fun, supportive environment while helping participants build confidence on the water.

Our extensive junior development program is designed to instill fundamental sailing skills in children. We believe in laying a strong foundation, ensuring that every young sailor learns to navigate the waters with confidence.

What we provide:
  • An allocated club Optimist
  • Required sailing safety equipment
  • Structured instruction in essential sailing skills
What participants need to bring:
  • Hat
  • Sunscreen

  • Clothes that can get wet -  board shorts/activewear + long-sleeve top or spray jacket; a wetsuit is ideal for dinghy courses

  • Change of clothes and towel

Requirements: Children must be confident in the water and able to swim 25 metres freestyle.

Places are limited, so early registration is recommended.
