Participants don't need need to have any sailing experience and they don't have to be a member of a club to participate. All the equipment, including life jackets and boats, are provided.
Our Instructors will make sure your children have a great time on the water learning to sail. They will learn the basics of sailing through games on and off the water.
Please ensure kids bring lunch - fridges are available.
Mounts Bay Sailing Club is situated in Crawley, near the University of WA, only 5 kms from the City and easily accessed from Stirling Hwy.
The course cost is $270 per sailor and includes:
Day 1 – Boats, Beach & First Splashes — Timed schedule from 9–3 covering Boat on a Rope, Hop In & Leave, the no-centreboard tow steering drill, paddling ball collect, and first assisted sails.
Day 2 – Wind, Skill & the Pacer Adventure — The Pacer experience is the centrepiece, with two rotating groups (up to 4 on the Pacer each time with one of us ) while the other group does small-boat skills and the ball relay race. Five essentials introduced Tackers sheets.
Day 3 – Expedition Day & Show Mum and Dad! — Morning expedition around a Mounts Bay course, rehearsal session, then families arrive at 1:00 2:00 pm for the on-water demonstration, certificates, group photo post sail snacks for all.
