In 2020, everything is a little different… and Junior Carnival is no exception! We’ll be running a Perth event, capturing all the fun & games of Junior Carnival, just for WA kids and squeezed into 3 supervised fun-filled days and 2 nights!

Who is Junior Carnival for?

Junior Carnival is for any kids in year 7, 8, 9 and 10 in 2021 from across the WA Jewish community. This year with limited domestic travel, we are holding this in Perth for WA kids!

When is Junior Carnival 2021?

Starts Tuesday 19th January / Ends Thursday 21st January (night time closing party)

Is it overnight (or is there billeting) like a normal Carnival?

No, it is not an overnight event. There will be lots of fun sports & activities during the day, with social events at night after which participants will return to their homes. You can arrange your own sleep overs if you want

What sort of program will there be during the camp?

We aim to keep your kids active whilst having fun and staying connected to friends

  • Fun Mixed Sports Competition

    • 3x3 Basketball

    • Tennis

Will this event be COVID-safe?

Yes, all activities during Carnival will be Covid-safe, adhering to WA Health guidelines & Safety policies, social distancing will be promoted and limits set on number of people gathering in groups across designated areas in any given facility. Hand sanitiser will be provided at all events.

All activities are planned with sign-off from council or other governing bodies for facilities being used. There are numerous other Covid safety policies that will be in place, with more details to be shared later

What provisions are there for Security & Medical?

The security and health of all participants at Carnival is our top priority. Our events will be covered by CSG. All event security aspects will be worked through with CSG and ID tags to be worn at all times.

First Aid

There will be designated First Aid officers at all events. We will also have a designated doctor & physio on call for any urgent situations that arise

Hot weather policy

Sports will be called off and kids will be supervised in an appropriate/cool environment if conditions are deemed unsafe.

Food

We ask that your kids bring recess and a packed lunch every day as well as cold water. We will be providing a hot dog lunch on one of the days and a dessert bar at an evening event. A full schedule will be provided.

Can parents get involved to help out?

YES!! We rely on parents to volunteer some time to help out with the events - if you would like to get involved, please contact us. Please make sure you have a valid WWCC

How much will it cost?

The cost will be $290pp for the 3 days and 2 nights. We have tried to keep all costs as low as possible, this covers all activities across the 3 days.

It is Maccabi policy that no child should miss out due to financial difficulties.

Please email vp.wa@maccabi.com.au in confidentiality to discuss

Do participants need to buy/wear WA team uniforms?

No, given that there will only be WA participants for this event and no interstate teams, participants will not need to wear state team uniforms. We will provide coloured bibs for sport games.
