When: Arrive 6.45am for a 7.30am race start on Sunday, 22nd May
Location: Heffron Park (Robey St)
Course: 750m swim, 20km cycle, 5km run
All Welcome: Participate solo or as part of a team, amateur or pro
JUNIORS WELCOME: Shorter distances are available for the youngsters

Results from Club Triathlon 3rd April

After 2 weeks of ongoing rain the sun decided to come out to greet 14 eager triathletes, Newcomer Elan Miller came out the water in an amazing swim time of 11 min followed by Roy Cohen, Tim Lindop and Alan Kaplan.

Tim soon took over the lead shortly into the bike leg with Roy and Alan following.

Craig Pager was making up for lost ground after starting the race at least 5min behind and had the quickest bike time of 32min

Tim continued his great season running the 5km in 20 min to take the overall win.

Alan chased down Roy early in the run and came second followed by Roy and Craig who despite the late start still managed 4th place

Good performances on the day by Guy Miller who is preparing for Maccabiah and Brett Yudelman who is coming back into form


Next race is a sprint distance triathlon on the 22nd May

 

 

In Other Club News

Under 19 NSW State Road Crit Championships

Brayden Bloch spent the weekend racing Hunter Region. On day one he competed in the Orica Road Race over 85km on tough 4 lap course. Brayden caused an early break away of 7 riders to gap the main bunch during lap 1. The breakaway held the gap all the way to the finish where Brayden successfully sprinted to 2nd place overall.

On day two in the town of Broke Brayden competed in the Under 19 NSW State Crit Championships. Having won the State championships last year, he was going into the race as favourite, so he certainly had is work cut out. He manage to ride superbly smart during race and putting himself in the position to win in the closing stages. He managed to finish second by a bike length to a boy who was simply just faster on the day.

Overall Brayden had a great weekend finishing second on both days and adding another NSW state medal to his name.  

 

Wollongong triathlon festival Sunday 24th April

Excellent results achieved by Maccabi triathletes on the weekend In the Aquabike Brett Yudelman won gold in his age group after an extremely fast swim and good ride over the 1.5km swim and 40km ride course In the Olympic distance triathlon over 1.5km swim,40km ride and 10km run Norman Abel won gold in his age group with the next athlete over 50minutes behind.

Alan Kaplan won silver with a very quick run time and Stephen Brown won bronze in their respective age groups.
