Maccabi Hakoah Senior Football Round 6

Our over 45 side continue to impress in their lead up to going to Israel for Maccabiah. Their training for the event is paying dividends as their fitness is telling on the field.

On Sunday they ran rings around the South East Eagles winning 7 – 0 even without their injured gun striker Terry Sperber who is still to return from a  hamstring injury.

David Hirst needs a special mention for a  hat trick while other goals were scored by Zac Marks (2), Igor Likhorovitch and Rodney Rosmarin.

The team is top of the division 1 table and look a real threat for the tournament overseas. They will need all their fitness and more to overcome Brazil and Argentina who are in their side of the draw.

Our AA3 side had a crucial match against equal 3rd placed Waverley Old Boys and played their best match of the season winning 6-0 and securing their spot in the top 4.

Goals were scored By James Ellerine (2), Daniel Nussbaum, Dean Savitt and Aaron Kantor.

The Division 1 Saturday side had a postponed match due to injuries and sickness awhile the Sunday division 1 side went down in a  close one to top of the table Barnstenworth 1-2, and the AA2  side went down 2 -3 after leading against top placed Easts 2-1 at the break. Goals were scored by Mark Filler and Gilly Hirsch.
