Junior Soccer: big smiles and new skills for these legends!

Junior Girls:

Maccabi has been proudly supporting our young girls in developing their football skills. Our numbers have been increasing - and given this year has been a tough one - it’s amazing to see so many girls on the pitch.

Two weeks ago, our girls had a great day on the field. Our youngest team - the G8 Cheetahs put their new skills to the test against Queens Park in a tough loss. But they were all smiles after the match!

Special mention goes to our newest team - the G11 Panthers who had only played 2 matches together. They played a hard fought match two weeks ago, against the Maroubra Stormy Strikers with true grit and determination. Well played girls - we look forward to seeing more from you!

U14's Junior Boys:

This weekend, the Maccabi u14A team won 3-0 in their eighth consecutive victory of the season, having conceded only 4 goals over all 8 games. Despite their winning streak, this didn't lead to complacency but rather they went into the game with the same discipline and teamwork that seems to be driving them to victory.

The weak link is the lack of a dedicated goalie, with key players having to rotate through this position, but this has strengthened our defence considerably with our opposition barely able to get off a shot at goal.

Led by their coach, Michael Synnott, this team has been going from strength to strength. Much of this success may be the real friendships of this team both on and off the field. With the season coming to a close, a clean sheet of wins is possible. A great result from a pandemic affected season that is fortunate to have gone ahead. This team is poised to be a considerable contender in future seasons, having a strong core of dedicated boys.
