We are pleased to welcome participants to our Adult Learn to Sail Program (Start Crewing) for August 2025.  This course will include three sessions, conducted over the dates as listed above.

Each session time is 9:00am to 1:00pm.

Training will be conducted on the Club's fleet of Farr25 keelboats, which carry an Instructor and up to four course participants.  The boats will be sailed on the waters of beautiful Lake Macqaurie from Belmont.

The LMYC Sailing Centre abides by the Australian Sailing instructor:student ratios, hence places are strictly limited.  To avoid disapointment, we recommend registering early.  

The registration fee for this course is $395.

Member Discounts

Current financial LMYC members are offered a discount on training courses - 10% for Sailing Members and 5% for Social Crew Members. Please contact the Sailing Office to recieve your discount code.

Participant Course Pack 

Each participant will receive a pack containing an Introductory Keelboat textbook, an Australian Sailing logbook, additional information and discount vouchers.

 

Your course pack is available to collect from the LMYC Sailing Office once full payment has been received should you wish to do some pre-reading, alternatively you may collect it on the first session of your course.  Please contact the LMYC Sailing Office should you wish to collect early. 

Course Attendance

This is a 3-session course and, in order to satisfy one of the requirements for issue of the certification, you must attend a minimum of 12 hours.

Course Overview

Who should do this course?

This course is designed for participants who wish to begin sailing in a keelboat. Learn the basics, whilst staying relatively dry! All the equipment and gear will be provided by your accredited Discover Sailing Centre.

Course Outcome

You will gain your Start Crewing completion certificate.
