Lithgow Hockey Competition 2022

Published Sun 10 Jul 2022

Lithgow Hockey (LHA) has been reviewing our competition structure with a view to make hockey more accessible in the community, build a competition or several competitions that allow as many people of any age and ability to participate as possible.

The board has received a lot of feedback regarding hockey in Lithgow. This feedback included our current formats, time of year played, conflicts with higher profiled sport and declining numbers.

LHA see the recent lifting of COVID sanctions and restrictions, the improvements to the clubhouse plus our reducing numbers as a perfect opportunity to relaunch the Lithgow Hockey Competition and move to the summer months, where the weather is conducive to being outdoors, continuing to develop Lithgow hockey as a family friendly environment, parents are not required to choose between hockey and other higher profiled sports and the ability to increase our competition formats to form a good mix of social and competitive formats both at a junior and senior level.
