Sunday AM Winter Training (Jul-Aug, 2026)

On Sunday mornings commencing 19th July 2026 we are offering an opportunity for junior sailors to develop their sailing skills with a Club instructor.   

For Sabots & ILCA 4s this will be morning coaching, with a 7:30am start to catch the land breeze (typically gone by 11am). 

Our aim is to build boat handling skills with four discrete modules focussing on a different skill each day.  We will have our RIBs on the water - one with an Instructor, and another with parents - to support the sailors.  

 

We encourage parents to assist their kids, especially getting the boats out, and putting them away. We also encourage parents to spend time on the support boats (RIBs) - we don’t have as many instructors as we did for Learn to Sail and assisting will give the kids more time on the water. 

The Club may change, cancel or substitute dates when conditions warrant, with the objective of providing five morning training sessions over the 2026 offseason. Scheduled dates are fortnightly, but with some flexibility in August should the weather be adverse (too little or too much wind!) -

Sunday: 19th July, 2nd August, 16th August, 30th August.

The course fee for the four session package is $220.  There is no drop-in or single day option, nor will refunds be offered for days your child is unable to attend (unless sick, with appropriate evidence).  

Note: We are initially targeting 6 participants per Class of dinghy, with a minimum of 4 to support an instructor.  We will consider additional instructors if registrations expand beyond 8 participants.
