HOCKEY 5s EDUCATION DAY

Hockey Victoria is hosting an education/training day for all things Hockey5s at the LVHA.
This is suitable for junior and senior players, coaches, umpires and other team officials. Parents of junior hockey players are also encouraged to attend.
Members of the LVHA are strongly encouraged to attend as this will support our transition of the junior and mens competitions to the Hockey5s format in 2024.

Date: Saturday 16th March 2024

Venue: Latrobe Synthetic Sports Facility - Mary Grant Bruce Drive, Churchill VIC

Time:      Session One: 0930 - 1130 (Traralgon HC & Moe HC)

                 Session Two: 1200 - 1400 (Traralgon Rovers HC & Churchill HC)

* Unaffiliated participants can choose to attend either session.
** Participants not yet affiliated with a LVHA club are encouraged to attend the session with the club they are considering joining. 
*** Members of neighbouring associations West Gippsland Hockey Association and East Gippsland Hockey Association are welcome to attend.
 

What to bring: Please bring all your gear as if you were coming to play/umpire a game of hockey.

Session brief:

• Theory Education - rules and how to play Hockey 5s, including time for questions (approx 30-45mins)
• Practical Hockey5s Education - Opportunity for players and umpires to jump inside the boards and play/umpire Hockey5s, with coaches able to stand on the sidelines and coach. The HV facilitator will then stop and start during this session to teach and educate all involved.(approx 90mins)
