New netball courts for Lara!!

The City of Greater Geelong says yes to new Lara courts and Pavillion in its proposed 20/21 draft budget to be adopted at the June 2020 Council meeting.  This is a result of much planning, lots of discussions and lobbying for new courts which will mean that we will have access at all times and they will be located within the Lara Recreation Reserve and closer to central Lara. At this stage the budget has allocated $2M to this first stage of the Lara Recreation Reserve Masterplan so we are very excited however there is a little bit of work to do to ensure that funding is locked away. This is where we need you to "have your say" on the following link and let the Council and local community know how awesome it will be for Lara Netball to have a home of its own along with its own pavillion, storage, canteen and power!

COVID 19

In relation to COVID 19, the committee met (via zoom) on Monday night and agreed that none of us really know what the future holds for netball in our community for 2020. We all agreed that it would be reasonable and logical to return fee payments to anyone who has paid their fees already for 2020 and that when or if we return to play there will be a new fee structure due to reduced or modified number of games and that we will let you all know what that is when we know more. So, if you have paid your fees for 2020 and would like a refund please advise us via this email address - laranetballfinance@gmail.com and the refund will be organised through our Treasurer, Peter Eyre Walker. Staying connected

Our players, committee and coaches have done a magnificent job of trying to keep everyone connected via social media. Thankyou to all for being so amazing with your innovative initiatives and brave filming of yourselves to post on social media. It does not go unnoticed and is so important at this time. Please send any interesting or engaging  ideas to our Instgram or Facebook pages for inclusion. We would like to hear from all of you!

So many people have been affected adversely during this period and some of our sponsors have been much affected so if you are thinking of grabbing takeaway or choosing a service provider, check out our sponsors first and please choose those who support us. It all helps. 

Thanks to all for your patience. We dont have much to report other than to send a message to all members to stay well, stay safe, stay a bit distanced but most of all stay active and ready to take the court as seen as we get a green light. If this is in 2021 so be it. Lets be the fittest we have ever been! That part is up to you!
