JHS school sailing, following the Australian Sailing syllabus, for Start Sailing 1.

Please note that the registration process has a few steps. Here is what to do:

1. Click “register”
2. Go to “New to Australian Sailing?” Click that “signup” button. [if you’ve sail with us already this year, complete the “already a member?” Section instead]
3. The system will now lead you through a two-step process - new member registration, then event registration
4. Click “new member”
5. Complete personal details and then click “next step”
6. Got to “full membership” and click “select this membership”
7. Select “Discover Sailing Membership”  and click “next step”
8. Complete member registration information - basic details, click “next step”
9. Agree to terms of registration and click “next step”
10. Then the system will take you to complete the event registration

Don't forget to bring:

1. Clothes you can get wet - wetsuit, if you have one. Waterproof top, warm clothes and long sleeves, if you don't. It can get very cold out there on and in the lake.
2. close-toed shoes - wet boots, old trainers, crocs are all fine
3. broad brimmed sun hat
4. sunscreen
5. lifejacket, if you have one (we have ones to use, but if you have your own, even better).

Course Overview

This course introduces participants to dinghy sailing and its fundamental skills so they learn terminology and equipment and practice launching and returning to shore and capsize recovery. 

Course Prerequisites

Water confident.

Who should do this course?

This course is designed for participants who wish to begin sailing in a dinghy. All the equipment and gear will be provided by your accredited Discover Sailing Centre.

Course Outcome

You will gain your Start Sailing 1 completion certificate.
