Student Drop Off and Pickup/SIGN IN AND SIGN OUT REQUIREMENTS

The instructor’s responsibility for students commences when the student IS SIGNED IN TO THE CLASS. Students under the age of 16 MUST BE BROUGHT INTO THE GYM AND SIGNED IN BY AN ADULT. At the end of the class, students MUST BE SIGNED OUT BY AN ADULT. This ensures the safety of the students and follow’s the Club’s Risk Management Plan.

Students OVER THE AGE OF 16, can sign themselves in and out. The sign-in sheet is for risk management but it is also the club's record of ATTENDANCE TO DETERMINE WHEN STUDENTS HAVE MET THIS PART OF THE GRADING ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA.

Insurance

Insurance is with Australian Taekwondo. It is an annual fee that covers the calendar year 1/1/2023 to 31/12/24. It is the same no matter what time of year a student joins. Students are covered to train with other clubs in Australia that are affiliated with Australian Taekwondo. Your insurance is paid when you register.

Term Fees

Term Fees will be sent to you via email 2 weeks prior to the commencement of each term. Payment is due no later than the first week of training.

Uniforms and Sparring Equipment

Uniforms can be purchased through the club and come with club badges. You can see the Club Manager (Kate) for your appropriate size and can order and pay at class or via the website (revolutionise.com.au/kununurrataekwondo/)

Sparring Equipment: All Students MUST provide their own mouth guard and groin guard. After an initial term of Taekwondo, students are expected to provide their own arm and shin guards. The club provides chest and head guards to all students. Students can purchase the above items from the Club or can be organized by themselves.

Absences

As a show of respect, please advise the instructors or the committee if you/your child plans to be absent for more than 3 training sessions in a row or decides to withdraw from training sessions.

Parent Attendance Required at Training Sessions

As part of the Club’s Risk Management Plan, it is a requirement that 3 persons over the age of 16 need to be present at training sessions. This can be the Instructor and students or in the absence of adult students, it can be other persons such as parents/carers. As the presence of two adult students is not always guaranteed at training sessions there needs to be at least two parents prepared to be present at each training session. This is to assist with student supervision in case of accidents or events that may divert the instructor’s attention elsewhere.

Senior Black Belt Visits to Kununurra

A Senior black belt (either Grand Master Hitch or Mrs Susan Riley) will visit Kununurra for a week or 2 prior to each grading date. Extra group training sessions and individual or small group sessions will be offered to support the club, and the student’s who are grading.

Individual/small group sessions are by invitation only – they are initially offered to students who are grading, with additional sessions offered according to the needs identified by the club manager, committee and instructors. EVERY STUDENT WILL NOT BE OFFERED ONE OF THESE SESSIONS EACH VISIT – sessions are allocated as fairly and as possible – please be patient and respect the decisions of the committee.
