The course focuses on the skills that an Assistant Instructor will need to assist a qualified Australian Sailing Instructor in delivering training. This qualification is for those who wish to progress in the sport by helping others who are learning.

Assistant Instructors must always be under the guidance of an Instructor when assisting.

The Assistant Instructor course will provide you with a good foundation in the structure of the National Training Programs, communication skills and an introduction to risk management

Cost

KBSC Volunteer Boat Buddies can access this training free of charge subsidised by the Keppel Bay Sailing Club. (Usual cost $110) 

Pre-requisites

The pre-requisite of doing the Assistant Instructors Course is:

• Minimum age of 12 yrs old
• Comply with relevant State Maritime License requirements
