Take the next step in your sailing journey with our Start Sailing 2 course, designed to build on your existing skills and grow your confidence on the water.

Held over two days across two weekends, this course focuses on developing boat handling, refining technique, and introducing racing skills in a fun, supportive environment.

Course Dates:

• Saturday 9 May – 9:00am–4:00pm
• Sunday 17 May – 9:00am–4:00pm

Across the course, you’ll progress from structured training into practical on-water experience:

• Day 1: Skills development and boat handling
• Day 2 (morning): Continued training and preparation
• Day 2 (afternoon): Participate in club racing with an instructor onboard providing guidance and tips

This course is ideal for sailors who have completed Start Sailing 1 or have equivalent experience and are looking to advance their skills and gain confidence in a racing environment.

It also provides a great pathway into the Women’s and Girls Regatta on 13–14 June—an inspiring and social event celebrating women and girls in sailing.

Refund Policy

If you wish to move a course 3 weeks prior their will, be no cost involved. If you wish to move a course within those 3 weeks, the penalties below apply.

Cancellation greater than 3 weeks prior to a course will receive a full refund.

Cancellation 1-3 weeks prior to a course will receive a 50% refund.

Cancellation less than 72hrs prior to a course, no refunds will be given or if you fail to show for your session.

Course Overview
This course equips participants with boat rigging knowledge and sailing skills to sail a dinghy on their own. 

Course Prerequisites

Water confident, and the skills and knowledge gained in Start Sailing 1.

Who should do this course?

This course is designed for participants who have completed Start Sailing 1 and are wanting to learn and continue to develop their fundamental sailing skills.

Course Outcome

You will gain your Start Sailing 2 completion certificate.
