‘Youth Sail QLD Shirt Design’ Competition – Terms & Conditions
These Terms and Conditions apply to the ‘Youth Sail QLD Shirt Design’ competition (“Competition”). Entry into the Competition constitutes acceptance of these Terms and Conditions.
1. Promoter
The Promoters are:
- Australian Sailing Ltd (ABN 26 602 842 352)
- Keppel Bay Sailing Club Inc. (ABN 65 603 822 356)
2. Competition Period
The Competition commences at 9:00am AEST on 22 September 2025 and closes at 11:59pm AEST on 19 December 2025. No entries will be accepted outside this period.
3. Eligibility
- Entry is open to Australian residents only who are current members of a club affiliated with Australian Sailing.
- Entrants under 18 years of age must have the consent of a parent or guardian to enter.
- Employees, officers, and immediate families of employees and officers, of the Promoters and Sponsors directly involved in the Competition are ineligible.
4. How to Enter
To enter, participants must:
- Click the entry link or scan the QR code in the promotional material;
- Complete the online entry form, including personal details; and
- Upload their original, hand-drawn design using the template provided.
Only one entry per person will be accepted. Second and subsequent entries will be ignored.
5. Prize
- The winning entrant will receive one free entry to the 2026 Youth Sail Queensland event (coaching and regatta included).
- The winning design will form the inspiration for the official 2026 Youth Sail Queensland event shirt. The design may be adapted, edited, or modified by professional designers to suit production requirements and may not be an exact replica of the submitted design.
- The prize is not transferable, exchangeable, or redeemable for cash.
- The prize must be redeemed upon registration for the 2026 Youth Sail Queensland event. If the winner cannot attend, the Promoters may, at their discretion, supply an alternative prize.
- If the prize (or part of the prize) becomes unavailable for reasons beyond the Promoters’ control, the Promoters may, at their discretion, supply an alternative prize.
6. Judging
- The Competition is a game of skill. Chance plays no part in determining the winner.
- Entries will be judged by a panel comprising representatives of Keppel Bay Sailing Club, Australian Sailing, and the Event Sponsor.
- Judging will take place in early February 2026, with the winner determined on 2 February 2026.
- A decision in relation to the conduct of the Competition, including the selection of winning entries, is final and binding, and no correspondence will be entered into.
7. Winner Notification and Publication
- The winner will be notified by telephone and email on or after 2 February 2026.
- The winner’s name will be published on the Australian Sailing Facebook page, Instagram, and website.
8. Intellectual Property & Your Entry
- By entering the Competition, entrants warrant that their submitted design is their original work and does not infringe the rights (including intellectual property rights) of any third party.
- Entrants grant the Promoters and their Sponsors a free, non-exclusive, worldwide, perpetual and irrevocable licence to use, reproduce, distribute, adapt, publish, broadcast, communicate and perform their entry, in whole or in part, with or without modification, for any purpose in connection with the Competition, the event shirt, promotional activities, or associated materials. Entrants will not be entitled to any fee for such use.
- The winning design will be subject to creative licence in the professional design process, and may not appear in its original form.
9. Privacy
- The Promoters will collect and use entrants’ personal information to conduct the Competition and to contact entrants in relation to their entry.
- Personal information will be handled in accordance with Australian Sailing’s Privacy Policy (www.sailing.org.au) and the Keppel Bay Sailing Club Privacy Policy (www.kbsc.com.au).
10. Limitation of Liability
- You enter the Competition at your own risk.
- Except for liability which cannot be excluded by law, the Promoters (including their officers, employees, and agents) are not liable for, and you release them from, any liability relating to any direct or indirect loss, damage, personal injury, or sickness suffered as a result of entering the Competition, failing to win, winning, accepting, or using a prize.
- The Promoters accept no responsibility for late, lost, incomplete, or misdirected entries, or for any technical difficulties that may prevent an entry from being received.
11. General
- The Promoters reserve the right to verify the validity of entries and to disqualify any entrant who submits an entry that is not in accordance with these Terms and Conditions or who tampers with the entry process.
- If the Competition is interfered with in any way or is not capable of being conducted as reasonably anticipated due to circumstances beyond the control of the Promoters, they reserve the right to modify, suspend, terminate, or cancel the Competition.
- These Terms and Conditions are governed by the laws of Queensland, Australia.
