Join us in making the 2024 Mandurah International Open AND OJU Cadet & Junior Cup a standout event! We're hosting this pivotal occasion on Saturday 4th May and Sunday 5th May 2024 at the Mandurah Aquatic and Recreation Centre, and we need your support. We're actively seeking volunteers to fill the following positions:

Announcer (Saturday 11:30am until finish - Sunday 8:30am until finish)

  • Engage the audience with timely updates and announcements throughout the event.

Event Setup (Saturday 6:30am - 11:30am)

  • Due to venue constraints with the venue's availability, setup will commence at 6:30am on the first day of the event, Saturday 4th May.
  • Responsibilities not only include laying tatami (mats) and configuring IT equipment but also setting up the podium and positioning banners. Punctuality and the ability to work efficiently will be greatly appreciated in this role.
  • We will then need to bump-out of the venue on Sunday 5th May after the event, or Monday 6th May mid-morning.

Photographer / Social Media (Saturday 11:30am until finish - Sunday 8:30am until finish)

  • Immortalise the event’s moments. While experience is a plus, passion is equally valuable.

Table Official (Saturday 11:30am until finish - Sunday 8:30am until finish)

  • Ensure the smooth progression of matches with scoring, timekeeping, and overseeing the officials' table.

Weigh-in (Friday TBA - Saturday TBA)

  • Manage the weighing process, ensuring accuracy and fairness.

Marshalling (Saturday 11:30am until finish - Sunday 8:30am until finish)

  • Manage the athletes from the warm-up area to the field of play.

Gi Control (Saturday 11:30am until finish - Sunday 8:30am until finish)

  • Examine competitors' gis (uniforms) for compliance with set regulations.

Medical (Saturday 11:30am until finish - Sunday 8:30am until finish)

  • Lend medical support when needed. Those with prior medical experience are especially encouraged to apply.

Perks of Volunteering:

  • Play a key role in a National Event Series judo competition.
  • Build connections with athletes, coaches, and fellow sports enthusiasts.
  • Earn a certificate of appreciation and other tokens of gratitude.
  • Enjoy complimentary water, tea, coffee, snacks, and lunch throughout the day.

A Special Call to Event Setup Volunteers: Your dedication is paramount for the day's success. If you're up for the challenge, please emphasise your availability for the early morning setup in your application.

Your contribution as a volunteer is invaluable to us. Together, we'll make the 2024 Mandurah International Open a resounding success and an event to remember.
