2025 Judo Coach Accreditation Course

This is for payment for CAF Coach Accreditation with Shane Alvisio or Ivica Pavlinic for Regional Clubs held in July/August

All coaches must attend the practical session with Shane Alvisio or Ivica Pavlinic as well as complete the online courses to attain or renew their accreditation. To gain accreditation Coaches must also be current Financial Members of Judo NSW and members of an affiliated Club

This course is designed for new and existing Coaches (including NCAS Coaches) to gain or update their accreditation. Please note that Judo Australia has recently updated the Coaching Accreditation Framework - more information can be found by CLICKING HERE

All coaches must attend the full session

This course will include the following three (3) levels:

    1. Assistant Coach Coaches children and beginners under the guidance of a Club Coach (Min Age 15 yrs & Min Grade - Senior Green Belt) Assistant Coaches are welcome but do not need to attend the 4hr practical - Practical can be completed back at their own Club with their own (accredited) Head Coach.
    2. Sensei Coach Coaches and conducts Judo sessions at club level across a range of athlete abilities (Min Age 18 yrs & Min Grade - Senior Blue Belt)
    3. Senior Coach- Coaches with experience coaching club and state level Judoka across a range of age groups and abilities (Min Age 18 yrs & Min Grade - Shodan)

Applicants need to complete the following theory components prior to attending the practical course:

IT IS IMPORTANT TO NOTE: JA does not require coaches to complete the same online material they completed 4 years ago (unless they want to) Participants will need to show evidence of previous completion, which can be downloaded from the various websites. (Sports Integrity Australia & Play By The Rules)
 
JA encourages renewing coaches to complete "Refresher Courses" as suggested on the JA website under the Coaching Tab. All coaches will need to show evidence of 2025 completion of the online "Coaching Education" refresher courses. 
JA will no longer require long-term coachesto complete the same certification every four years, rather moving to a new model of reoccurring

& refresher level requirements.

All coaches also need to lodge with the Judo NSW Office the following evidence prior to being accredited;

  1. Copy of current Working With Children Check (WWCC).
  2. Copy of current First Aid Certificate
  3. Complete the Coaches Code of Conduct - CLICK HERE TO DOWNLOAD

Senior Coach applicants will also need to bring (or provide prior) the following to the practical course;

  1. Lesson plan for a 10 minute warm-up and cool-down (to be handed in)
  2. Lesson plan to teach a tachiwaza and newaza skill (to be handed in)

All coaches will need to fully participate in the practical session.  This will include demonstration in the technical component.
