SEMINAR: PERFORMANCE JUDO COACHING IN AUSTRALIA - DEVELOPING YOUR ATHLETES
Australia's judo athletes benefit from a highly developed Athlete Development Program jointly operated by Judo Australia and CombatAus.
This seminar, taking place on Friday, February 13 prior to weighin for the Canberra International Open, will introduce coaches to Judo Australia's Pathways Program, how it is guided by the ADP, and outline recommendations for developing athletes towards high performance judo.
Led by Maria Pekli, Judo Australia's General Manager of Pathways and Performance, the two-hour session will introduce the theory behind the Athlete Development Program, as well as demonstrate some key, age-group specific expectations.
Coaches guiding athletes towards international competition will gain insights into how to ensure their Club environment aligns with the wider program, giving their athletes the best opportunity to thrive at home, as well as on tour with the National team coaches. It will be of particular benefit to those coaches guiding athletes looking to participate in Judo Australia's Cadet and Junior Development Squads.
Attendees must hold up-to-date registration with Judo Australia/state members under the CAF 2.0 to at least COACH JUDO level. Attendance credit will be granted towards ongoing educational requirements under the Coaching Accreditation Framework.
