Inverell Hockey is excited to invite all players, umpires, officials, captains, goalkeepers, and anyone interested in improving their knowledge of the game to our upcoming Umpire Development Day.

This day isn’t just for umpires. It is a great opportunity for everyone involved in hockey to gain a better understanding of the rules, ask questions, get clarification and improve communication between players and officials.

Topics will include:

• Rule updates and clarification
• On-field communication between umpires
• Communication between umpires and players
• Appropriate use of cards
• Tackling skills and infringements
• Questions and discussion around situations that occur during games

Following lunch, Dane and Sarah will support umpires during games, with headsets being used to demonstrate and improve on-field communication in a practical game environment.

We strongly encourage everyone to come along. Whether you are an experienced umpire, a player who wants to better understand decisions, or someone interested in learning more about the rules of hockey everyone is welcome.

Our aim is to create greater consistency, confidence and understanding across our competition and to support both our officials and players.
