Welcome to Illawarra Dragon Boat Club

Dragon boating is an exciting sport for all levels of fitness and ability, with a rich history dating back over 2,500 years to Ancient China, where races were part of religious ceremonies and festivals.
Whether you're looking for a social paddle or the thrill of competition—from local regattas to major international events—we’ve got a place for you.
Our club is also home to Dragons Abreast Illawarra (DAI), a supportive group that unites breast cancer survivors and their supporters, promoting connection, healing, and wellbeing through the joy of dragon boating. To learn more about Dragons Abreast Illawarra click here.
No matter your fitness level, background, or experience – there’s a seat in the boat waiting for you. Come for the fun, stay for the friendship and fitness.
We welcome:
- Individuals aged 12 years and over
- New paddlers all year round – no experience needed.
- School groups (ages 12+) for sport programs
- Community and corporate groups for team building events
