Aussies shine at the 2018 Contender European Championships

The Aussie boys were in fine form at the 2018 Contender European Championships held on Lake Garda, Italy.

Johnny was our stand out performer, coming in at 13th with some really impressive results...must be that Tigers sticker!

The racing was thick and fast at Garda, although the usual tactic of "head to the wall" did not always pay in conditions that the locals say "it is never like this here!". Winds were lighter than expected in the hot and humid conditions.

We sailed the first 6 races as a split fleet, and then for the final 4 we were divided into Gold fleet and Silver fleet.

Former world champ Soren Andreasen from Denmark won the regatta. He just beat local lads Marco Ferrari and Antonio Lambertini.

All the Aussies had a great time and are looking forward to the Nationals in Adelaide in January.
