If you’ve completed our Crew & Helm Introductory Course and are looking to build confidence through more time on the water, this extended session is the perfect next step. Designed to reinforce and develop your existing skills, this course provides an additional4 hours of practical sailing experience with a qualified instructor.

Sailing in self-righting keelboats offers a stable yet responsive learning environment, allowing you to focus on refining technique without the concern of capsizing. These sessions are highly practical and tailored to the experience level and goals of the crew on the day, making them ideal for sailors wanting to progress at their own pace.

What You’ll Gain

During this extended on-water session, you’ll have the opportunity to:

• Consolidate and build on the skills learned in the Crew & Helm introductory course

• Spend more time practicing helming and sail trim on all points of sail

• Improve boat handling through repeated tacks, gybes, and manoeuvres

• Develop stronger teamwork, communication, and understanding of crew roles

• Gain confidence through real-time feedback and coaching from your instructor

Depending on conditions and group goals, sessions may also include advanced boat handling exercises, sail balance awareness, and further man-overboard practice.
